Aspiring models are always looking for top modeling agencies in order to secure their way to secure their way to the top of the modeling career but, are these modeling agencies their best choice or not. Of course the answer is not a simple yes or no but, there are several pros and cons that should be weighed carefully before answering such difficult question.
One of the great pros of dealing with top modeling agencies is that you are always supplied with a constant load of work. You do not need to wait beside your phone waiting for the next job because you know that your agency is dealing with a large number of clients so, once your finish your current assignment you will be assigned another one right after.
On the other hand, top modeling agencies may ask you to sign exclusive contract. The exclusive contract means that you cannot get work through other agencies and you cannot get representation by other agencies. In some cases, this could be a good choice. For example, if you are a part timer, you would not mind signing such contract because you are not so keen to work every day. But, if you are taking it more seriously, then you may want to reconsider signing such contract. Try to negotiate with these agencies in order to make the exclusiveness bounded by time or by territory. In other words, if you are living in London then make the exclusive representation terms bounded only to London only so, you can get another representation in Chelsea or Ireland or any other place.
Top modeling agencies could be a good place to start because they are always looking for new faces and bodies. This means that you can easily find a place there but on the other hand, this also means that they have a short turnover rate. Make sure that you are dealing with the right agency or you will find yourself unemployed quickly. If you are good in fashion modeling then you won't face problems in sticking to one of the top modeling agencies but, if you are not that good then it is a wise decision to stay away from exclusive contracts.
